Where to Play

  • Hollenbeck Park: Covina's municipal pickleball courts at 1250 N Hollenbeck Ave, Covina, CA 91722. Park hours are 5 am to 10:30 pm. The city parks and amenities page confirms the pickleball courts.
  • Cameron Park Community Center: Three indoor pickleball courts at 1305 E Cameron Ave, West Covina, CA 91790. The center runs open gym on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.
  • Dawson Avenue Park: Four lighted outdoor pickleball courts at 201 W Dawson Ave, Glendora, CA 91740. See the official park page for current facility details.

Hollenbeck and Dawson provide court access, not a published organized rotation. Bring a group or be ready to ask players on site to mix in.

Lessons and Beginner Help

Covina does not publish a current recurring pickleball class on its parks page. Call Parks and Recreation at (626) 384-5340 to ask whether a new beginner class is enrolling.

For a specific starting point, use the weekly Intro to Pickleball clinic at GamePoint Pickleball Club, 1545 Hanover Rd, City of Industry, CA 91748. It is designed for people who have never used a paddle, and rental paddles and balls are available.

Open Play, Leagues, and Events

Cameron Community Center runs recurring open gym Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. Adults pay $2, while seniors and children are free. Times can vary, so check the current center page before traveling.

GamePoint offers two hour open play with paddle rotation, plus clinics, leagues, and tournaments. Hollenbeck Park does not currently publish a separate organized play calendar.

Playing as a Visitor

A solo daytime visitor should try Cameron open gym on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday and ask staff how players rotate on the three courts. For a more predictable match, register for a GamePoint open play session at your level through the live event calendar.

If you already have partners, Hollenbeck is the closest outdoor choice and Dawson adds lighted courts. Bring paddles and balls, confirm whether a portable net is needed, and remember that an available court does not guarantee opponents.
